Events and Partnerships Specialist
Position Summary:
Under the direction of the Institutional Giving Manager, the Events and Partnerships Specialist will be responsible for the strategy, communication, promotion and execution of AHS signature events. Additionally, this individual will be responsible for the full range of duties associated with the identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of corporate sponsors and partners which combined with event revenue will meet a $1.6 million budget goal in support of the overall strategic plan of the organization. The Events and Partnership Specialist will oversee the Events Coordinator, who provides logistical and administrative support to team event needs.
Essential Duties:
Signature Events - Compassion with Fashion & Home in One Golf Tournament
Execute AHS signature events including but not limited to:
- Plans and manages 1,000 person annual luncheon (Compassion with Fashion) and charity golf tournament (Home in One) including communication and execution of all operations, budget, décor, silent and live auction, registration, ticket sales, guest lists, volunteers, and post-event follow up.
- Identifies and executes corporate partner sponsorship solicitations and ensures that all sponsorship deliverables are met and partners are properly stewarded.
- Serve as staff liaison for strong, legacy volunteer planning committee including event chair communications, planning and running monthly committee meetings, all communications, timelines and stewardship.
- Creates and manages internal communication and roles/responsibilities with staff, volunteers and Board of Directors as needed for event participation and support.
- Analyzes event performance and projects future performance based on key performance indicators.
- Oversee AHS' Event Coordinator, who provides logistical and administrative support to all signature events.
New VIP Donor Gala
- Conceptualize and execute first-year VIP fundraising gala at AHS' new Rob and Melani Walton Papago Park Campus intended to steward an exclusive list of the organization's most generous donors and partners.
- Collaborate with AHS' individual giving team on guest list, approach and implementation of event.
- Solicit and secure sponsors, vendors and partners in support of this first-year event.

Education / Certifications / Licenses:
- Bachelor's degree and at least two years of experience in large-scale event planning. Experience in corporate relations, outside sales or nonprofit development a plus.
- Valid AZ Driver's License and insurance.
Experience and Qualifications:
- Demonstrated experience building and maintaining effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders and partners; knowledge of donor cultivation and solicitation principles and processes required.
- Strong negotiation skills.
- Proven ability to provide end-to-end logistical and operational support for small and large events, including managing budgets.
- Provide high level, timely customer service.
- Comfortable networking in high-profile social circles.
- Attention to detail, critical thinking and problem solving skills required.
- Must be able to work independently, under pressure, and manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
- Ability to articulate AHS mission, programs and services. Must be comfortable speaking to large groups.
Language Skills: Able to speak, read and write English. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Mathematical Skills: Able to develop budgets and estimate costs.
Computer Skills: Proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook and Explorer required; able to learn other software programs as necessary. Proficiency in Raiser's Edge fundraising database software a plus.
Other Skills, Abilities and Qualifications: Regular attendance is required. Access to reliable transportation.
