Animal Shelter Warehouse Associate / Donation Processor
Position Overview
Ensure warehouse is organized and maintained to be functional for all departments of AHS. Support the shelter for all department needs. Accept and sort donations for organization use. Receive and processes all deliveries for AHS.

Essential Functions
- Receive deliveries as they arrive. Sort, store and/or notify the proper departments.
- Process donations for Shelter and Thrift.
- Collect donated items delivered to the organization on a daily basis from all donation areas.
- Inventory, inspect, stock and distribute donated items for best use within the organization.
- Ensure donors receive assistance with donations and are offered donation receipts; ensure gift-in-kind receipts are filled out and filed.
- Respond to all communications received via e-mail and phone calls promptly.
- Schedule pickups with Rescues and outside partners.
- Work with AHS Transport Team and AHS Thrift drivers to ensure proper route of items and supplies.
- Be readily available during your work shift to assist other departments with needs as they arise.
- Operate and maintain forklift safely. Report any malfunctions to the Warehouse Manager immediately.
- Maintain a professional appearance and conduct with patrons at all times.
- Ensure that the warehouse is organized, clean and made a safe work environment.
- Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Requirements
Education / Certifications / Licenses:
- Must love working with pets and people.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Must be over 21 years of age.
- Experience in operating a forklift preferred.
- Must possess strong organizational and verbal communication skills.
- Work well both independently and cooperatively as part of a team.
- 1 year prior work experience.
Experience:
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:
Language - Able to speak, read, write and understand English.
Mathematical - Basic
Technical - Proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook and Windows Explorer; able to learn other software programs as necessary.
Other:
Regular attendance, punctuality and access to reliable transportation required. Weekend shifts may be required.
Work Environment / Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls, reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
